DISCRIPTION
Avac ND - M is a vaccine for protection from Newcastle Disease (ND). This vaccine is produced in SPF embryos. The M strain of Newcastle Disease Virus is classified as Mesogenic strain suitable for booster vaccination of chicken against velogenic Newcastle Disease. This is a live virus  vaccine for  the  vaccination of chicks 8 weeks or older for booster vaccination mainly for sensitization of upper respiratory tract epithelium  against virulent ND virus of chickens.
Newcastle Disease
Distributed worldwide, Newcastle Disease virus is caused by velogenic paramyxoviruses is highly transmissible and is exhibited in respiratory, visceral and neurotropic forms. The primary vaccinations with mild Lentogenic vaccines e.g. Avac ND-HB1 and Avac ND-LaSota immunize the upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal and respiratory system respectively via local and humoral immunity in chicken. The Avac ND - M vaccine is suitable for providing long lasting systemic immunity against viscerotropic virulent strains

COMPOSITION:
Each dose of vaccine contains at least 106EID50 attenuated Newcastle Disease virus strain Mukteswar and lyophilization stabilizers.

INDICATION
This product is recommended for booster vaccination of chicken for enhancing the immunity against Newcastle Disease. The chicken must have received some Lentogenic vaccine before vaccination with Avac ND-M. Vaccine must be administered  by subcutaneous or intramuscular route. It will result in high level of humoral immunity (HI titers ) and last for 8-12 weeks. Layer chicken shall require a booster with Newcastle killed vaccine (Avac New K, Avac ND-IB K,...) or Avac ND - M vaccine at point of lay to ensure long lasting strong immunity during laying period. It is recommended that regular booster with Avac ND-Clone Entero vaccine is given every 8 weeks interval to maintain high levels of immunity.

PRECAUTION:
This vaccine should not be given to chicks younger than 8 weeks of age and to the chicks which have not received 1 or 2 doses a Lentogenic primary vaccination before. Lameness may be seen as a reaction in birds having low immunity at the time of vaccination. Supportive treatment to flock is recommended in such a case.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Birds to be vaccinated should not be weak, debilitated diseased or in  immune-suppressive state. It is essential that birds be healthy, maintained under good management conditions and prevented from unnecessary exposure to stress conditions. Good sanitary and bio-security measures augment the preventive measures by giving the flock time to establish immunity

USAGE AND DOSAGE
Remove the plastic flip-off seal from the vaccine vial and inject enough air into vial to break vacuum. Remove cap of the diluent bottle and withdraw 2ml of diluent in a suitable syringe and transfer it into vaccine vial. Allow the freeze dried vaccine to dissolve. Shake the vaccine vial very gently (avoid vigorous shaking to prevent frothing) and keep the reconstituted vaccine in ice bath.

Use automatic vaccinators or 1ml syringe as per recommendation of equipment manufacturer.
Using a 20 gauge, 1/2 inch needle inject 0.5ml of vaccine in the free subcutaneous space in the mid neck region. Insert the needle through the skin on the mid line. Avoid inserting the needle through the side. A slight resistance should be felt as the needle penetrates the skin, followed by the needle easily sliding through the skin into the pocket.
For intra-muscular (I/m) administration:
Using a 20 gauge, 1/2 inch needle inject 0.5 ml of the vaccine in the breast muscle or leg muscle region. If using, some birds may be show

CAUTION:
The capacity of this vaccine to produce satisfactory results depends on many factors, including but not limited to conditions of storage and handling by the user, administration of vaccine, health and immunocompetence of individual birds and the degree of field exposure. Directions for use therefore must be followed carefully. It is imperative that the user of this product comply with the 'indications for use', 'contraindications' and 'method of preparation and administration'  stated on the product insert . The vaccine must be prepared  and  administered  as directed to obtain best results
